NBA Star Rudy Gobert Suspended-Here’s Why

Due to Rudy Gobert's recent one-game suspension for punching Kyle Anderson during a timeout in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be without their star center when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA play-in tournament game on.

Gobert will rejoin his teammates for the remainder of the Wolves' play-in tournament run and beyond.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 was acquired by the Wolves for four first-round selections, which is a major setback for Minnesota. Now, the Wolves must try to upset the Lakers, a hot club that appears to have found its groove just in time for the postseason.

Gobert was kicked out of the game on Sunday and immediately thereafter expressed regret for his behavior.

Gobert remarked, "Emotions got the best of me today. Regardless of what was stated, I should not have reacted in the way that I did. I want to apologise to the crowd, the team, and in particular to Kyle, a teammate I genuinely love and respect.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wolves are of the opinion that Gobert's blow was not intended to harm his teammate, but they had no choice given that it hit Anderson in the chest.

According to the allegation, Gobert and Anderson got into it when Anderson repeatedly referred to him as a "bitch."

When asked about the incident after the game, Anderson said he wanted to keep it internal.
