FRENCH MONTANA SUED OVER FL MUSIC VIDEO SHOOTING

A lawsuit against French Montana has recently been filed as a result of a shooting that happened while he was celebrating the release of his mixtape and filming a music video, and which resulted in 10 injuries.

The lawsuit, which TMZ was able to receive, claims that in January, French and fellow rapper Rob49 were filming the music video for their song “Igloo” at The Licking in Miami Gardens.

According to the lawsuit, French personally ordered the relocation to the restaurant following a robbery that involved production personnel and unidentified assailants across the street. Claimant Carl Leon claims that he and about 80 other crew members were there when he was requested to appear as an extra in the video.

According to Leon, “an unknown individual severely injured several people, including the Plaintiff.”

He continues by saying that after a Miami Gardens Police Department investigation, it was determined that French had not obtained the needed licenses from the city to ensure that the set was secure and under sufficient police protection.

You may remember that at the time, Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt issued a statement in which she essentially blamed French and his group for the shooting. According to the chief, French and Co. should have called the police in advance so that measures could have been set up to stop such violence.

The lawsuit names French, his record company, Coke Boys, and the eatery as defendants.

Leon’s attorney, Josiah Graham of the Graham Injury Firm, filed the suit Monday. Leon is asking for more than $50,000 in damages, claiming the defendants were negligent.
