CEO CARL CRAWFORD – BEEFIN’ WITH MEGAN & JAY-Z WAS WRONG

1501 Certified Head of Entertainment Carl Crawford claims they haven't communicated since 2019 but is now admitting mistakes in his interactions with Megan Thee Stallion and wants to heal any bridges moving ahead.

As their label begins a new chapter without the H-Town babe, TMZ Hip Hop met down with Carl and his recently appointed 1501 President Kai "Verse" Tyler.

As a former MLB great, Carl freely acknowledges that while his competitive drive is strong, his understanding of the music business is relatively limited. This is where Verse comes in.

Verse is a seasoned professional with experience managing the publishing and public relations efforts of musicians, which sparked a discussion regarding 1501's current flagship artist, Erica Banks, and their ambitions for her career.

Also, Carl recanted his former animosity toward Jay-Z and Roc Nation, whom he had previously accused of sowing the seeds of Megan's evil, and he was forthright about his friendship with Tory Lanez.

When Carl and Tory flicked it up inside a club last year, fans knew the Megan beef was serious, but Carl is now saying that he and Tory don't know each other and the incident was just a joke to get back at MTS.

He eventually regrets the stunt. Verse claims that expanding the label's artistic audience is his main objective and that Erica creating an OnlyFans page is just one more way to interact with the current social media generation.

Aside from that, he is confident that the "Bust It" rapper and Kehlani have a hit song and possibly a cookery show in the works!

Only time will tell if Meg accepts their apologies, but for Carl and Verse, at least … it all appears to be water under the bridge.
