Tory Lanez is beginning to understand the seriousness of his 10-year prison term; after assuming that the justice system would treat him fairly, he is now turning to God for support.
Tory's defense lawyer, Jose Baez, told TMZ that his client is currently experiencing some depression as a result of the book being hurled at him. Tory is reportedly having trouble understanding his punishment, but Baez adds that despite this, Tory has told him he intends to stay strong and make the best of his time in jail.
According to Jose, Tory is relying on his faith in God, the love and support of his friends and family, and the outrage that his followers are expressing around the world—many of whom are vocally deploring the severe penalty.
Because so many people, including some celebrities, defended him in court, Tory reportedly hoped the judge would be lenient. We are informed that the reason there is such an uproar about Tory is because he was really loved by the community and had given so much over the years.
Meanwhile, according to Baez, an appeal will be made.

Last but not least, we questioned Baez about Tory's plans for adjusting to fatherhood with his young son, but the lawyer declined to respond. He also mentioned Tory's potential deportation, but he assured us that other matters—namely, the appeal—came first.
