While you may be aware that Paul McCartney is a successful and extremely wealthy icon of the entertainment world, there are a few things you may not know about him. He has experienced a fair amount of tragedy throughout the years, among other things. For instance, People reports that when he was 14 years old, his mother Mary passed away from cancer. It's a loss that McCartney may have written about without even being aware of it at the time. He discussed his well-known hit, "According to People, he stated, "Every time I come to the line 'I'm not half the man I used to be,' I remember I'd lost my mother around eight years before that," in his book, "Lyrics: 1956 to the Present." The fact that our mother died of cancer and the topic was never brought up was really unusual." He kept thinking about the deeper significance of the song. We hardly understood what cancer was, but today I'm not shocked that the entire experience came to light in this song, where sweetness clashes with an indescribable sorrow, he continued.
According to The Guardian, McCartney later encountered Linda Eastman in May 1967 in a London nightclub and confesses he was immediately taken to her. Two years later, they were married, and they remained together until she passed away from cancer in 1998 at the age of 56. McCartney is currently grieving another devastating cancer-related family loss that was related to his late wife.Paul McCartney got John Eastman as a brother-in-law when he wed Linda Eastman in the 1960s. John joined McCartney's extended family and served as the musician's attorney for many years, according to Page Six. The two men remained close even after Linda passed away, which is why McCartney posted a heartfelt statement on social media on August 11 in response to John's passing from pancreatic cancer at the age of 83.
"John had amazing character. One of the kindest and most intelligent guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, "While uploading a picture of himself and his now-deceased brother-in-law appearing to be having fun while doing yoga poses, McCartney wrote on Instagram. The celebrity said, "There is so much more that could be said about his extraordinary traits, but words hardly do justice to his ardor for living and our love for this extraordinary man. Those of us who knew and loved him will mourn him dearly, but we will always hold him close in our hearts."
One of the singer's fans commented on the Instagram post, "So sorry for your loss and my prayers go to the entire Eastman/McCartney family," reiterating what so many others had said in the comments. "Paul, this is such a great tribute to the lifelong friend and family – a loyal and trusted friend," another person remarked.
