The wife of the actual SpongeBob SquarePants is chirping up because Ariana Grande is dating a SpongeBob SquarePants actor who isn't the one you're picturing.
A clarification was offered by fellow voice actor Jill Talley in response to an Instagram post from The Cut, which featured a confused title about AG's new beau, Ethan Slater.
It reads, "Is Ariana Grande Dating Spongebob Now?" and it also features a shot of Ariana and Ethan — this of course after we broke the news that the 'Wicked' costars are together
Talley is married to the man who has been playing SpongeBob on TV for many years.
Naturally, The Cut's interpretation is technically correct here… but not quite clear on its own. Yes, Slater plays a live-action SpongeBob on Broadway; for this character, he has received Tony nominations.
However, he is NOT the character voiced by the actor for so long.
When responding on The Cut's article, JT wanted to clarify that. Hello everyone Tom Kenny, who performs SpongeBob's voice on television, and I are married.
Ariana Grande is not his girlfriend. Ethan Slater, who portrayed SpongeBob in the show, may or may not be dating Ariana Grande, but I don't know for sure. They're both adorable, though, and I completely ship it.
She added this on her own relationship … "Just wanted to set the record straight. P.S. as for me and Tom Kenny — we are celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary today."
In other words, one man shouldn't be confused with another, even though for a little while it appeared that they were. It's good to know that the original SpongeBoy is completely loyal.
Ethan and Ariana have been dating for a few months now, as we previously mentioned, making the sequence of events a little hazy. We are aware that she and Dalton Gomez broke up in January, but they also tried again on their second anniversary in May. On the surface, it appears like there may have been some overlap.
