OS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) — Authorities said Thursday that a man implicated in an on-stage attack on comedian Dave Chappelle has also been charged with the attempted murder of a roommate months earlier.

The LA County District Attorney's Office said that Isaiah Lee, 23, has entered a not guilty plea in the December stabbing that happened during a brawl at a Los Angeles transitional living facility.

According to prosecutors, the publicity surrounding the Chappelle incident aided in Lee's identification and arrest in the earlier attack.

The county public defender's office did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment from an attorney for Lee.

Lee was arrested on May 3 at the Hollywood Bowl for reportedly rushing the stage and tackling Chappelle during his stand-up show.

According to authorities, he was carrying a replica handgun with a huge blade that folded out like a pocket knife, comparable to a pocket knife.

Chappelle was unharmed and finished his performance at the "Netflix Is a Joke" comedy festival.

Lee has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of violence, assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of interference with a public event. Since the attack, he has been imprisoned.
