Selena Gomez is an actor, singer, businesswoman, and now a Saturday Night Live host.
The Only Murders in the Building star has finally joined the upper echelon of Hollywood A-listers who've hosted the famed variety program after nearly two decades in the industry—Gomez may only be 29 years old, but she first appeared on Barney in 2002. Gomez, on the other hand, didn't simply agree to appear on SNL to promote the second season of her Hulu sitcom or to execute a spot-on Miley Cyrus impersonation; she also agreed to do so to find love.In her opening speech, Gomez stated, "One reason I'm extremely happy to host SNL is because I'm single." "I've also heard that Saturday Night Live is a terrific location to discover love." Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, Pete and….Machine Gun Kelly all met here."
Gomez is entirely correct in his assessment. When Stone hosted Saturday Night Live in 2016, she met Dave McCary, who worked as a writer and segment director from 2013 until 2019. ScarJo met Colin Jost, the host of "Weekend Update," when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2006, and the two became fast friends when she returned in 2017. While Pete Davidson and Machine Gun Kelly's bromance may or may not have begun on the event, it should be noted that Davidson met ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande when she hosted in 2016 and began seeing his current girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, after she hosted in October 2021.
SNL is essentially the best celebrity dating service available, which Gomez found appealing. "I just want to put it out in the universe that I'm creating love," she said, "because I don't really want to try the dating apps." "I'd want to say I'm seeking for my soulmate, but I'll take anyone right now."
Kyle Mooney and James Austin Johnson are not included in the term "anyone." With Punkie Johnson, we'll see how things go. The whole introductory monologue by Selena Gomez may be seen here:
