The highly anticipated Super Bowl performance by Rihanna demonstrates that she still possesses the Midas touch when it comes to music, beauty, and fashion. It seems sense that Puma would desire a larger share of the market given the rekindled relationship with the international superstar.
The athletic clothing company announced the information on Instagram on Wednesday with just two words: "She's back," beside the logos of Fenty and Puma.
Robyn, born In 2014, the multi-hyphenate Barbadian Rihanna Fenty joined the firm as creative director and worldwide ambassador. A creeper-style version of Puma's best-selling suede sneakers was among the ready-to-wear and footwear collections that resulted from the cooperation. The most recent collection from Fenty x Puma included motocross-inspired designs for spring 2018. The pair also hosted a pool party at Coachella that year's opening weekend.
Savage X Fenty, the singer's brand of intimate apparel and loungewear, made its debut in May 2018 and quickly sold out. Since then, it has established brick-and-mortar stores in a number of locations, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
Then, in May 2019, Rihanna introduced her Fenty luxury brand with LVMH, becoming the first woman and person of color to lead a brand for the conglomerate. (The company's doors closed in 2021.)
Although more information is still pending (the Instagram post's caption just reads "coming soon"), this year's Coachella may be the ideal venue for Fenty x Puma to make its triumphant comeback. Expect the new launch to hold nothing back if RiRi's previous runway displays are any clue (don't be surprised if it's Y2K-inspired, or has an altogether new look).
