Following the Prince George gaffe, co-host cuts off Anderson Cooper.

When Prince George appeared on Anderson Cooper's screen, one of his co-hosts interrupted him after he said he hadn't seen the young royal at King Charles III's coronation.

In front of dignitaries including top religious figures, foreign leaders, and other dignitaries, Charles was crowned on Saturday at Westminster Abbey in London. Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II at Scotland's Balmoral Castle in September 2022, the longest heir apparent in British history was crowned King.

Cooper, Christiane Amanpour, the network's main international anchor, and Max Foster, the network's London correspondent, were providing live coverage of the event for CNN from a makeshift studio put up in front of Buckingham Palace.

Cooper says, "We haven't seen George, but he may be somewhere else," as Prince George is seen on screen entering Westminster Abbey while standing directly behind Charles.

Foster cut in, saying, "No, we did see him, he's holding the robe behind the King."

Later, Cooper confused Prince Louis, who is five years old, with his younger brother George, who is nine.

The mistakes drew criticism on social media. One Twitter user wrote: "Anderson Cooper I'm watching this spectacle because I can't tell which one is George and which one is Louis. Many thanks, Anderson.

In response to criticism of Anderson Cooper's comments, a different Twitter user claimed she chose to continue with CNN's coverage "so I could laugh at how bad it is."

Anderson claiming Prince George wasn't present despite the others having pointed him out a few times, she said, "His English co-hosts almost ignoring him & trying to ensure he doesn't say much."

Another Twitter user from New Orleans commented: "One demerit for Anderson Cooper not recognizing Prince George."

First Lady Jill Biden attended the coronation together with her granddaughter Finnegan Biden to represent the United States.

In addition to the United Kingdom, Charles is the ruler of 14 other Commonwealth nations, such as Australia, Jamaica, Canada, and Papua New Guinea. Leaders from several nations, including Justin Trudeau of Canada and Anthony Albanese of Australia, participated in the royal parade with military men.

Following the service, a sizable parade of members of the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force transported Charles from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace in a golden carriage. A planned flypast had to be scaled back due to severe weather, which also caused thousands of well-wishers to line the route.

Without his wife, Meghan Markle, or their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Prince Harry attended the coronation. Between Jack Brooksbank, the husband of his cousin Princess Eugenie, and Princess Alexandra of Kent, he was seated in Westminster Abbey.

On Saturday, Archie will turn four, and Harry will likely depart for California soon after the coronation.

CNN has been emailed by Newsweek for comment.
