People who knew them claimed a mother and daughter who loved bowling and were fervent Christian conservatives were among the members of a Pennsylvania family discovered shot dead in their backyard last week in what police believe was a suicide pact.
Morgan Daub, 26, and her parents, James Daub, 62, and Deborah Daub, 59, were discovered dead in their backyard in York County, Pennsylvania, on the morning of Jan. 25, after police responded to a neighbor's request for a welfare check.
According to the West Manchester Township Police Department, notes found inside the residence indicate that the family recently made a "shared decision" to terminate their life.
There were no traces of forced entry or struggle, and no proof that anyone else was present, according to police.
The inquiry into the deaths is now complete.
People who knew the family were shocked and heartbroken by the deaths. Members of the local bowling community described Morgan as a shy, quiet young woman who was close to her mother and a talented and devoted bowler until she and her mother abruptly stopped attending bowling businesses and alleys in the area a few years ago, around the start of the pandemic.
