Dwayne Haskins' wife claims the former NFL player was drugged in the hours leading up to his passing, and she also claims the former Steelers and Commanders quarterback was the subject of a robbery and blackmail attempt.
Less than three weeks before to the terrible death of the former football star, Kalabrya Haskins detailed the claims in a new lawsuit that was filed in Florida and acquired by TMZ Sports.
In the affidavits, Kalabrya asserts that Dwayne visited four businesses in the Miami region on April 8 and April 9, 2022, and was drugged by a gang of persons who intended to blackmail and rob him.
According to Kalabrya, the 26-year-old was drugged at some point when he was present at the Wyndham Hotel, a Drive Shack, a restaurant named the Blue Anchor Pub, and the E11EVEN nightclub.
Dwayne's "highly-expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death," according to a statement made public by Kalabrya's lawyer, Rick Ellsley, on Monday morning. However, he doesn't say who he believes took it.
In addition to accusing the four businesses of negligence, Kalabrya is suing them for battery and for allowing "patrons to use drugs and to drug other patrons, including [Dwayne]."
As we previously mentioned, Dwayne passed away on April 9, 2022, allegedly due to being hit by a dump truck on a Florida highway. After his rental car ran out of gas, Dwayne was on foot on the road, according to an investigation report from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office.
Authorities said in the documents that the QB "drank heavily" and used ketamine in the hours before he passed away. He allegedly had a.24 blood alcohol content at the time of the collision.
In her lawsuit, Kalabrya is suing a number of additional parties, including the driver of the dump truck that struck Dwayne, the business from whom he rented his automobile, and the Florida Department of Transportation, arguing that they are all partially to fault for the quarterback's premature passing.
Just 24 years old, Dwayne.
