(CNN) Adele's Las Vegas residency cancellation left more than just ticket holders in shock.
The famous singer revealed that after having to let her fans down, she felt like "a shell of a person for a couple months" in an interview with "Desert Island Discs" on BBC Radio 4.
She remarked, "I just had to wait it out and just lament it." It was horrible, so I assume simply mourn the lost opportunities and move on from the guilt.
A day before the much-anticipated concerts were about to begin, Adele announced the cancellation with great emotion in January. She now claims that she "certainly felt everyone's displeasure," along with feelings of "devastation" and "fear of letting them down."
"I believed I could put it all together and make it work, but I failed. I still stand by that choice," Adele declared. It was such a huge, huge story, and I don't think any other artist would have done what I did.
She continued, "I'm not going to just perform a concert because I have to, because people will be disappointed, or because we'll lose a ton of money.
Over the weekend, Adele performed once more, this time as the festival's headlining act at BST Hyde Park in London.
