Post Malone and Apple Music’s Zane Lowe had an hour-long conversation on Wednesday (July 26) during which the “Sunflower” rapper talked about aliens, parenthood, and his new album Austin. He also discussed his use of psychedelics, both the toll it has had on him and the advantages it has provided.
At the 21-minute mark of the interview, Post Malone stated, “Yeah, I take mushrooms.” “I enjoy mushrooms. I enjoy mushrooms. less than I once did. It has significantly impacted my short-term memory.Maybe it was only a brief period of everyday frequent misuse. But now days, I merely grab a small square of chocolate and giggle uncontrollably with my friends.
He continued: “I was talking to a [Army] Ranger buddy of mine. He was a Ranger and he was saying they’re giving it to guys for PTSD and stuff. And I was like, oh that’s cool because a lot of the times, a lot of pharmaceuticals, they have negative reactions often.
“And it’s cool to see that they’re giving them this medicine and it’s actually working. He was saying his buddy was going through it and it really helped him a lot. I don’t know. It’s interesting because it has improved my view on things.
