GRAMMYS 2023 LIVE UPDATES

THE 65TH GRAMMY ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday, the biggest night in music returns to Los Angeles. The awards ceremony was relocated to Las Vegas last year due to an increase in Covid-19 cases and concerns about the spread of the omicron form. The Grammys were held in Los Angeles in 2021 — but totally outside, thanks to Covid.
Trevor Noah, who left the Comedy Central show in December, is returning to host the Grammys for the third time.

Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, and Sam Smith with Kim Petras will all perform at this year's show.

The Recording Academy also announced that the show will include tributes to three "lost icons": Loretta Lynn, one of country music's crown jewels who died in October; Christine McVie, a Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter who died in November; and Takeoff, a Migos rapper who was shot and killed in November.

Non-classical songwriter of the year; best alternative music performance; best Americana performance; best scoring soundtrack for video games and other interactive media; and best spoken word poetry CD are among the new categories. The best song for social change will receive a new special merit award.

Beyoncé, who announced her 2023 global tour last week, has received the most nominations this year, with nine. Kendrick Lamar has eight nominations, Adele has seven nominations, and Brandi Carlile has seven nominations.
The ceremony will take place at Crypto.com Arena and will be televised live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
