The two comedy legends recently performed together in West Hollywood at the "Comedy Store," making light of the violence they've each experienced while on stage. The attack took place on the Oscars stage during the live broadcast on March 27. According to the BBC, he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's baldness by mentioning her in relation to "G.I. Jane 2," prompting Will Smith to charge the stage and hit Rock across the face. Smith was suspended from the Academy and all connected Academy activities for at least ten years as a result of the now-famous incident, which has revolutionized the landscape of live shows.
According to Vanity Fair, Chappelle was assaulted on the Hollywood Bowl stage during his performance of "Netflix is a Joke" on May 3.
