Real Madrid drew their penultimate league encounter before meeting Liverpool in the Champions League final.

For the match between the La Liga champions and the Copa del Rey champions, Carlo Ancelotti chose his strongest XI.

Karim Benzema came close to adding to his 27 league goals this season on two occasions.
The game did not feature Gareth Bale, who is expected to leave Real Madrid.Last month, Ancelotti's team won the title with four games to spare, but they failed to win the domestic season.

During the 90 minutes, they only had three shots on goal, while Betis came near on his 600th La Liga appearance when replacement Joaquin, 40, fired barely wide.

Real Madrid, which finished the regular season with 86 points from 38 games, now has a week to prepare for the Champions League final on May 28 in Paris.

Real Betis are in fifth place with 65 points, but Real Sociedad can catch them up if they beat Atletico Madrid at home on Sunday (21:00 BST).Bale will not leave Bernabeu.
On the eve of the game, Ancelotti said it was necessary for Real Madrid to acknowledge Bale's commitment to the club and urged fans to give him a proper send-off in his final home game. The Real boss chose not to select the Welshman in his 23-man squad after naming him in his squad.

Since arriving from Tottenham for £85.3 million – then a world transfer record – in September 2013, the 32-year-old has helped the club win four Champions League trophies and scored 106 goals.

Bale has been chastised in Madrid for allegedly being more committed to playing for Wales than Real.

In March, he responded to a story in the Spanish tabloid Marca that referred to him as a "parasite."

In 2021-22, he appeared in just seven club games, logging 290 minutes and scoring one goal.
