HUNGRY is a tech-enabled food catering and delivery business that provides nutritious snacks to corporate employees. It was founded in 2017. Eman Pahlavani, Shy Pahlavani, and Jeff Grass developed the subscription-based service, which they have now acquired.
The company has served meals made by local chefs to corporate personnel in 11 cities since its beginning. HUNGRY raised $60.12 million as of April 15 on PitchBook, valuing the company at around $200 million. Marcy Partners, Kevin Hart, Usher, and celebrity chefs Tom Colicchio and Ming Tsai are among the early investors in the platform.HUNFRY reportedly tripled in size after the pandemic began, according to Forbes. As corporations and cities relax restrictions on pandemic-related measures, CEO Jeff Grass expects more individuals to return to the office. The demand for HUNGRY's services should rise as a result of his return to the workplace.Grass told Forbes that NatureBox has already secured $60 million in venture capital funding. "We expect NatureBox to add at least 20% to HUNGRY's entire revenue in 2022, and our business to double in sales in 2023," says the company.
HUNGRY sells jerky, almonds, and other common foods under its own brand. NatureBox now includes relationships with independent brands such as Rise Coffee and Field Trip Crispy Cuts in its curated bundles.
Through a freshly built HUNGRY Snacks platform, the acquisition of NatureBox enhances snack options for existing clientele.
LocalStove and Ripe Catering were also acquired by HUNGRY to better serve customers in the northeastern United States.
"We're growing like wildfire," Grass told Forbes, "and we expect it to continue for the foreseeable future." "We just launched in our 11th location, Nashville, and HUNGRY will be expanding across the United States in 2022 and beyond."
