When questioned, Prime Minister Liz Truss did not rule out raising the state pension age.She said she would "do what it takes" to address the economic outlook while restraining herself from making speculation about "all kinds of decisions that haven't yet been made."

When asked whether she would eventually raise the state pension age over 67 by broadcasters in Birmingham, Truss responded, "You're asking me to speculate about all kinds of decisions that haven't yet been taken.

"It's crucial that we addressed the problem of the high cost of electricity that people were paying. With that intervention, we have contributed to reducing inflation. Taxes have been lowered to stimulate economic growth.

"In order to jump-start the economy, we're going to implement economic reforms in areas like moving faster with construction projects and moving faster with transportation projects.

We are currently dealing with a really challenging international scenario and a declining global economy, therefore that is what we need to do. So, absolutely, I will make any necessary efforts to address such problems.
