Trump claimed that Fox News was “pushing” the Democratic Party’s agenda, and he promised to assist CNN if it “turned conservative.”

Karl Rove criticized Donald Trump's handling of documents, and Trump retaliated by attacking Rove and Fox News.
Trump said that if CNN wanted to adopt a conservative stance, he would back the network.
Recent departures at CNN indicate the network is attempting to reach a larger audience.

Donald Trump, a former president, attacked Fox News on Sunday, saying the outlet was propagating a Democratic agenda and being more critical of Republicans than Democrats."Wow! Fox News actively promotes Democrats and their political agenda. each and every day is worse, "On his social media site, Truth Social, Trump posted. "Republican colleagues get creamed in interviews with so many Dems because they are only asked softball questions."

Uncertain whose interviews Trump was alluding to, he also singled out Karl Rove, a former Republican White House aide who is currently a Fox News contributor.

"RINO Karl Rove is unbearably nasty, constantly on, and has a significant losing streak." Added Trump. Being a Republican in this environment is difficult, especially in light of all the "pervert"-purchased advertising. Which advertisements he was referencing are unknown.

Rove worked for the Bush administration in the 2000s as a senior advisor and deputy chief of staff. He has made multiple appearances on Fox News to talk about the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago in early August and the Justice Department's inquiry into Trump's handling of federal records.Invoking the Presidential Records Act, Rove stated last week that "none of these materials are his to have taken."

On Sunday, Trump criticized Fox News but also stated that he would back CNN if it took a conservative stance in its cable news division.

"'Low ratings' CNN would become a gold mine if they ever switched to conservatism, and I would assist them in doing so!" Added Trump.

Trump's criticism of CNN, a target of his since the beginning of his presidency, comes as the network seems to be changing its approach in an effort to appeal to a wider audience.

John Harwood, a longtime CNN White House correspondent, abruptly left the network on Friday after referring to Trump as a "dishonest demagogue" and adding that President Joe Biden's assessment of the MAGA movement as a danger to democracy on Thursday was "accurate."

Additionally, Brian Stelter abruptly left CNN last month. Stelter, who covered media on his program and in his newsletter "Reliable Sources," openly criticized Fox News and other right-wing media organizations.

The changes happened after Chris Licht took over as CNN's CEO earlier this year after Jeff Zucker left.Unnamed current and former workers of CNN told The Washington Post that they believed the recent wave of departures was proof that Licht intended to reinvent CNN as an ideologically neutral network by stifling voices that were critical of Trump.

When Insider contacted Fox News and CNN for comment, no one responded right away.
