Ed Sheeran, a British singer, has won a high-profile copyright battle involving his hit song "Shape of You," which was released in 2017.

A judge concluded that Sheeran did not plagiarize Sami Switch's song "Oh Why" in a London High Court ruling on Wednesday.

Switch, whose real name is Sami Chokri, accused Sheeran of plagiarizing a significant element of the 2015 song.

Justice Zacaroli stated in his decision that he was confident Sheeran did not steal portions of Switch's "Oh Why" either purposefully or unconsciously.Sheeran has previously been accused of copyright infringement.
He was sued in 2016 over his track "Photograph," which was settled out of court, and he was accused more than once in 2017 over his smash "Thinking Out Loud."
