The Big3 is expanding its ownership groups with some major names. The league said on Friday that rapper Snoop Dogg and PayPal co-founder Ken Howery are expected to buy a 40% share in Big3 team Bivouac. Only designated NFTs will be used to make the purchase.Since its introduction during the summer of 2017, the Big3 has been a successful 3-on-3 basketball league. Former NBA great Clyde Drexler serves as commissioner, while former Raiders CEO Amy Trask serves as Chairman of the Board.
Snoop Dogg and Howery were singled out by the league, according to Ice Cube, due of their involvement with the NFC community.
Ice Cube, a co-founder of the BIG3, stated in a statement, "We are very happy to have Snoop, Ken, and their communities on board with the BIG3." "Ken's desire to join our league proves that we are on the right track." Snoop Dogg is an undisputed great who dove headfirst into the Web3 sector and clearly recognizes the significance and value of what we're attempting to develop. I'm confident that they'll take Bivouac to new heights as a team, and we're excited to get started."
Howery also expressed his enthusiasm at the opportunity to apply his blockchain expertise to this new endeavor.
"The BIG3 is at the forefront of enabling blockchain technology as a utility," stated Howery. "The league's acceptance of NFTs as ownership rights is both visionary and practical; important characteristics of any smart investment."
