Orlando Bloom made an unexpected weekend visit to Ukraine, where he even stopped by the Presidential Palace to speak with the president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
As a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, the United Nations organization that provides worldwide humanitarian help to children, Bloom spent three days traveling through the war-torn nation that is still under siege by the Russian military.
Bloom visited Irpin, Demydiv, and Kyiv during his trip. When he arrived to the Ukrainian President's palace, he greeted him warmly.
Around a huge table in a safe room, they started talking about how they could assist the Ukrainian youngsters as the Russian battle continues.

The worry in the children's eyes is evident, and Bloom once noted, "Yet the strength of the Ukrainian people is something that is really awe-inspiring."
He went on, "Of course, the cause of that is your messaging. So it's impressive to see how you're managing this nation."
According to Ukrainian government, 465 Ukrainian children have died thus far during the conflict, and another 14,000 have been abducted and sent to Russia. Among these, only about 125 have been returned to Ukraine.
Bloom spoke to Zelensky Although the men discussed the necessity for foster families rather than group homes for the children, UNICEF was actively investigating into the case of the missing Ukrainian children.
After that, Bloom discussed Vladimir Putin and referred to him as a war criminal. He expressed his opinions on the Russian president in the following way: "Of course, this led to the designation of He Who Must Not Be Named as a War Criminal. And what's happening is very horrible."
Prior to departing, Bloom gave Zelensky a gift from his Buddhist teacher and a letter from his mother. "You must win because a loss would be the defeat of hope."
