He was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects the actor's capacity for communication and linguistic comprehension, in March, and his family later stated that he had given up performing.
According to a statement from the family, "our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health concerns and has lately been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impairing his cognitive ability." "Because of this and after careful contemplation, Bruce is leaving the profession that has meant a great deal to him. Our family is going through a tremendously difficult period right now, so we greatly appreciate all of your love, sympathy, and support."
The added statement, "We are dealing with this as a solid family and wanted to invite his fans because we are aware of how important they are to both of you. Live it up, as Bruce usually says, and that's exactly what we're going to do."
