When it comes to Lady Gaga's new single, fans are clamoring for it to come out as soon as possible. Fortunately for them, Gaga is ready to give them a sneak peek at what they may expect.
Gaga teased a 10-second preview of her new song "Hold My Hand" in an Instagram post on Friday (April 29), which will be used in the highly anticipated sequel Top Gun: Maverick. Massive drum kicks, violins, and Gaga's voice singing the words "I won't let go 'til the end" were included in the video, which was accompanied with a black-and-white footage of Gaga sitting under the wing of a prop plane called "LG."The footage was released shortly after Gaga confirmed that the reports that she was working on a song for the film were accurate. The singer wrote a lengthy letter on her social media pages, stating that she had been working on the single for "years" and that she was delighted for fans to hear it.
"I wanted to make music into a song where we share our profound need to both understand and attempt to understand each other—a longing to be close when we feel so far away and the opportunity to appreciate life's heroes," she wrote on Instagram. "I'm grateful to Tom, Hans, and Joe for this opportunity, and it's been a joy to work with them." "I, BloodPop, Ben Rice, and everyone else who worked on it with us are ecstatic to share it with you," says the author.
After a series of tweets that fans soon recognized as lyrics of the song, Gaga confirmed it. "Hold my hand everything will be ok," Gaga wrote, "I heard from the sky that clouds have been grey," and "I see you're bleeding, you don't need to show me again."
On Tuesday, "Hold My Hand" will be distributed worldwide (May 3). Below is a 10-second snippet of the song:
