GETTING RID OF FISH STENCH IN THE KITCHEN

1. VINEGAR

By far, seafood is the worst culprit. The most effective combo is this: In a pot, combine one cup of water with three teaspoons of white vinegar and bring to a boil. Leave the dish of white vinegar on your counter overnight after cooking (to absorb stubborn odors).
Because vinegar is acidic and odors are alkaline, it can eliminate odors.
Alternatively, you can eliminate any odor by simmering cinnamon sticks, lemon peels, and crushed ginger in water on the stove for at least 15 minutes in the morning.

2. SLOWING DOWN ROTTING

To prevent tomatoes from deteriorating as soon, store them stem end down. This keeps moisture inside and air outside of the scar left by the tomato's former attachment to the vine.

Oh, and the recommendation to never keep a tomato in the refrigerator? Debunked! According to recent research, the taste and juiciness of tomatoes were not significantly impacted by whether they were stored on a countertop or in a refrigerator.

3. SAVE CUT FRUIT FROM BROWNING

Apple slices can appear appealing if a little lemon juice is added, as you've probably heard. Similar results can be obtained by mixing 1 part honey to 2 parts water to prevent fruit from browning.

Ever ponder why this is effective? The oxidation process that results in discolouration is slowed down by the citric acid, vitamin C, and peptide found in lemon juice and honey, respectively.
