As Ukrainian forces get ready for a new Russian attack, President Joe Biden reversed his earlier reluctance to give armored vehicles by announcing on Wednesday that the U.S. will send 31 of its frontline combat tanks to Ukraine.
The M1 Abrams tanks, which Biden was under pressure from the world community to supply when Kiev requested them, are seen as essential to help the Ukrainians reclaim territory that was taken during the assault Putin ordered in Russia.
In remarks delivered from the Roosevelt Room of the White House, Biden stated, "They need to be ready to fight Russia's developing tactics and strategy on the battlefield in the very near future."
