The annual fireworks spectacle on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., isn't going cheap this year, and we've learned that America is dumping a hefty chunk of coin to make it happen!

Federal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the National Park Service's large fireworks display will set taxpayers back $269,000, with Garden State Fireworks once again receiving the honor of lighting up the night sky of Washington, D.C.
But before you start pointing the finger at the six-figure price tag, remember that similar events have cost around the same amount in the past. According to TMZ, the cost of the patriotic party in 2021 was $278,500.
When previous President Donald Trump wanted to upgrade the performance, we paid Garden State Fireworks $320K.

And just so you know, the most expensive show in recent memory looks to have been 2020's, which ran about $350,000 when the pandemic forced a shift to Mount Rushmore.
