According to the 34-count indictment that Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg recently unsealed, Stormy Daniels is just one piece of the puzzle for Donald Trump's alleged hush money payments.
The $130,000 Trump allegedly paid Daniels in exchange for her quiet over what she claims to be their affair is described in the indictment, as was to be expected. Trump has denied having an affair, but the documents show that his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, negotiated the sum with Daniels' attorney and subsequently sent the money to Stormy's attorney on October 26, 2016.
According to the D.A., Trump instructed Cohen to put off paying the fine as long as possible in order to swindle the woman after the election.
The D.A. refers to Trump's "catch-and-kill" scheme with AMI, the parent company of the National Enquirer, in the indictment. A second woman received a $150,000 payment as part of the alleged plan.
It has been widely reported that AMI paid that sum to silence Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, who also asserted she and Trump had an affair, despite the documents failing to identify the lady by name.
The documents state that on Sept. 30, 2016, a shell corporation was established, and on that day, Trump and AMI allegedly agreed that he would pay $125,000. Unfortunately, AMI informed Cohen that the agreement was off, therefore it was never completed.
The indictment also claims that AMI paid a former Trump Tower doorman $30,000 after he claimed to know something about a child Trump had fathered outside of marriage. AMI intended to release the doorman from the NDA he had signed after learning the story wasn't accurate, but prosecutors said Cohen instructed them to hold onto it until after the election.
