Tiger Woods has retaliated against his ex-girlfriend in what is turning out to be a brutal $30 million lawsuit, refuting her claims that he had an oral agreement to let her reside in his home and practically support her for years.
Tiger's attorneys are contesting Erica Herman's claims in her lawsuit that, prior to their breakup a few months ago, Tiger had pledged to support her and allow her reside in his home for at least another five years in exchange for services (she did not specify).
According to court documents, Mr. Woods offered Ms. Herman to live with him as his guest at the Residence during their relationship (BTW, the home is partially held by a trust).
With Ms. Herman, Mr. Woods never entered into an oral lease agreement. Moreover, there was never a signed lease agreement between Ms. Herman and either Mr. Woods or the Trust. Ms. Herman never received any ownership interest in or occupancy rights to the Home from Mr. Woods.
Herman alleged in her lawsuit that Tiger's representatives had driven her to the airport after persuading her to pack her bags for a "little holiday" without Tiger in the fall. Herman claims she was informed she had to leave the residence after the locks were changed upon their arrival at the airport.
Erica was not left out in the cold, according to Tiger's attorneys, who claim the golfing legend instead provided her enough money to buy a new home and put her up in a luxurious resort.
Herman is also contesting the NDA she claims Tiger forced her to sign, arguing that it is invalid under a federal statute that nullifies NDAs in cases of sexual assault or harassment. Tiger's attorneys neglected to mention this in his court filing because it is a distinct legal proceeding.
