Justin Roiland, the co-creator and co-star of "Rick and Morty," has parted ways with Hulu, the streaming service announced in a statement.

Roiland previously provided the voice of Korvo in the animated series "Solar Opposites" on Hulu, which he co-created with Mike McMahan. In addition, he served as executive producer of the Hulu production "Koala Man."

The firm announced that both performances will go ahead without Roiland.

According to a recent USweb24 story, Roiland was recently accused in California's Orange County Superior Court with two charges of felony domestic violence arising from an incident in January 2020.

On January 12, Roiland appeared in court for a preliminary hearing after entering a not guilty plea. Roiland's attorney stated in a statement that he believes the matter will be dropped because his client is innocent.

Attorney T. Edward Welbourn stated, "We look forward to clearing Justin's name and assisting him in moving forward as quickly as possible.

Adult Swim, a cable television network, declared on Tuesday that it had severed ties with Roiland.

The video game company Roiland helped start, Squanch Games, also said on Tuesday that Roiland had left a week earlier, just days after NBC News' initial expose on his domestic abuse case.
