Quick reactions are essential to becoming a professional tennis player, and Jodie Burrage demonstrated to the Wimbledon spectators that she was capable of doing so.On the sidelines of her match on Monday, the British athlete observed a ballboy who appeared dizzy and hurried over to see how he was doing. She offered him a sports drink first, then some nutritious gel, and finally a bag of candies from a bystander."I just handed him a Gatorade and a gel and tried to get him some sugar. The gel is not the best thing, but they were able to locate some Percy Pigs in the crowd somewhere along the line, which he ate, and he soon began to feel better," said Burrage. I'm hoping he feels better now.

Ten minutes were lost during the game while the youngster was being carried off the court.

Sadly for the 23-year-old Burrage, her bravery wasn't enough to give her the victory. On the first day of the competition, she suffered a 6-2, 6-3 loss to Lesia Tsurenko.

Burrage claimed that she saw the ballboy was in trouble and wanted to assist.

"I simply responded like I would expect anyone to. Burrage added, "He was not in a good place. I merely made an effort to assist him as much as I could.

The crowd offered more assistance in the shape of chewy candy.

Definitely, Burrage declared, "I love a Percy Pig." I simply thought, "This kid needs sugar. The gel didn't appeal to him. Yes, certainly need something else, I thought. Go get some sweets here if you like, someone simply yelled from the side. Percy Pigs were they.

Burrage made her Wimbledon debut the previous year and likewise fell in the opening round. She will, however, get another opportunity this year in women's doubles. Later this week, she and Eden Silva will compete in their first game.

Really anticipating that, Burrage said. I'm hoping I can cross the finish line in that one.
