Will Smith, the Oscar winner for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, has been in the news a lot lately, but not for the reasons you might think. However, this could change now that the actor's first major step since the historic slapping incident has been made public.
According to the Sun, Smith is presently working on a sequel to the 2007 blockbuster I Am Legend, in which he will reprise his role as Dr. Robert Neville.
According to the article, Smith's studio, Westbrook Studios, is now creating the film. According to reports, after adapting the Richard Matherson novel for the first film, Akiva Goldsman will return for this project.According to the Sun, no screenplays have been signed off on yet, but despite the Oscars incident that had him banned from the event for the next decade, Smith will appear in the film.
"The script is being developed with his character in mind, and Will is still involved with the project." Warner Brothers has yet to sign off on the proposal, but there has been no hint that Will has dropped out of the project.
Obviously, he is the film's producer, and his production firm is in charge of the project while it is in progress. The truth is that Will will return at some point, and the only question is which studio will be willing to take a chance on him."
Negative reactions to the actor have slowed recently, according to the insider, as the public has moved on to other stories such as the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trials.
This isn't the first time that news of an I Am Legend sequel has surfaced, but it is the first time that Smith's involvement with the film has been revealed.
