While Tom Parker was battling cancer, Ed Sheeran contributed to his medical care.In October 2020, the Wanted singer was diagnosed with an operable brain tumor and died in March at the age of 33 after a long battle.
Tom said that the Shape of You hitmaker had been extremely supportive of him and his family in an excerpt from his new biography, Hope: My Inspirational Journey, obtained by The Sun.
"Ed Sheeran came out to me almost as soon as I was diagnosed, offering to help in any way he could." "I've known Ed since he joined The Wanted on our tour bus during a marketing trip to America more than ten years ago," the snippet reads. "Over the years, we've always run into each other and had a terrific friendship."
"Ed is a very special man – he even helped out with my medical bills while I was investigating other treatment options and had private immunotherapy," I stated. "I've never publicly mentioned this before (and he'll probably be angry that I'm doing it now), but Ed is a truly special man."
Tom expressed his gratitude for Ed at the end of the paragraph.
He continued, "It meant everything."
Ed has yet to say anything about the news.
On May 26th, Hope: My Inspiring Journey will be launched.
