Chris Rock takes time off from his hectic touring schedule to spend time with his 17-year-old daughter Zahra. On Wednesday, April 27th, the comedian, 57, was seen out and about in New York City with his youngest daughter on a casual stroll – exactly four weeks after Rock was slapped by Will Smith at the Academy Awards. The Grown-Ups star was dressed warmly in a navy beanie and a light blue quilted bomber jacket with hoodie. He wore both with an olive green cargo pant, white sneakers, and a pair of wireframe glasses with a round shape. Zahra, his ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock, wore a pair of straight-leg trousers, Doc Martin shoes, and a brown leather jacket with shearling accent.

Chris has yet to fully address the smack, which occurred after he made a joke about Will's alopecia-suffering wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. "I'm really excited to see G.I. Jane 2!" In response to Jada's bald head, Rock joked onstage. While the Red Table Talk host smiled at first, she appeared displeased seconds later, prompting Will to rise from his seat and stroll onto the platform, slapping Chris on live television.

Chris told the audience at his first stand-up comedy event in Boston that he was "still processing" what had happened and that he "didn't have a load of s—" for them about it. He indicated he wouldn't tell about what happened unless he was "compensated" during another event in Palm Springs.

A day after the concert, Will apologized to Chris in a public post on his Instagram. "Violence is poisonous and harmful in all of its manifestations." My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was terrible and unacceptable. Jokes about my health are part of the profession, but a joke about Jada's physical condition was too much for me to take, and I reacted emotionally," Will explained."I'd like to express my sincere regret to you, Chris." I was wrong and out of line. I'm humiliated, and my behavior did not reflect the guy I aspire to be. "In a world of love and generosity, there is no place for violence," he added. Will was barred from attending the Academy Awards for ten years after the incident. He also resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which means he will no longer be able to vote.
