President Joe Biden "evaluated" Fox News as "one of the most destructive forces in the United States," according to a pair of New York Times reporters and CNN political analysts in an upcoming book.
Biden was even harsher on Rupert Murdoch, according to the reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns.
In mid-2021, Biden allegedly warned an anonymous acquaintance that Murdoch was "the most dangerous man on the planet," according to the book. The passage appears in several chapters of "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future," which will be published in May.Fox is described in the book as a "tornado of anti-Biden programming, fanning vaccine skepticism and promoting crazy conspiracy theories about the January 6 attack," according to the book.
Many Biden supporters have criticized Fox for these reasons, blaming Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan, the company's CEO, for allowing hosts like Tucker Carlson to flourish.
According to the Factba.se database of President Barack Obama's speeches, interviews, tweets, and other public utterances, Biden has never mentioned either Murdoch in public. As a result, the remark in "This Will Not Pass" could cause some controversy. The White House declined to comment on the book's claim that Biden chastised Rupert Murdoch's father.
In January, Biden was caught on a hot mic calling Fox White House journalist Peter Doocy "a foolish son of a bitch." After that, Biden called him to express his regret.
Biden also makes references to Fox's anti-government programs on occasion. "I check to Fox to find out how popular I am," he stated during a CNN town hall last October, prompting laughter from the audience.
The reporting of Martin and Burns suggests that behind closed doors, Fox's chairman has a far harsher opinion.
