When intruders entered into Paul Pogba's home, he claims they stole his World Cup winner's medal.

When his home was burgled during his team's Champions League game against Atletico Madrid last week, the France international, 29, spoke of his "family's worst fear."

In the house at the time were his two young children and their nanny.

He told Le Figaro, "The most important thing is that my children are fine."

Pogba scored France's third goal in the 2018 World Cup final, which France won 4-2 in Moscow.

"There were jewels from my mother, my world champion medal," he replied when asked about the items taken."What terrified me the most was the fact that my two children were at home with the nanny at the time of the occurrence.

"She overheard everything, alerted my wife and security, and locked herself in a room with the boys." She was stunned for days."

Pogba has been at United since re-joining the club in 2016 for a then-world-record £89 million transfer fee from Juventus. His contract is set to expire in the summer.

Pogba is presently in France, preparing for friendlies against Ivory Coast and South Africa.

"This break is like a breath of fresh air for me," he added. "I'd like to get some playing time so I can get back on track with the club." Wearing this jersey and representing my country brings me more pride than ever."
