Settlement talks in the sex assault case involving Nicki Minaj’s husband are still ongoing.

Although Jennifer Hough, the woman who Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty was accused of sexually abusing back in 1994, filed a lawsuit accusing Nicki Minaj of harassment in 2021 and won, it seems the fight is still ongoing for her husband.

Court documents that Hot New Hip-Hop received state that Petty and Hough's negotiations have halted. The Root earlier stated that a judge ordered Petty to settle the lawsuit in December 2022 and recommended that the issue move to mediation so that both teams may come to an agreement. Hough's legal team is now trying to adopt a scheduling order in order to ultimately settle the matter because Petty doesn't seem to be interested in concluding things in a timely manner.

"In the aforementioned case, we are the plaintiff Jennifer Hough's attorneys. According to court filings, Hough's attorney Tyrpne Blackburn wrote in his letter to the judge, "I write jointly with Counsel for Defendant Kenneth Petty. "As you are aware, the Court offered the parties the chance to participate in a private mediation. The parties engaged in a private mediation, but regrettably, no agreement could be reached. To establish a scheduling order, we would like to schedule a scheduling conference with the court.

Hough filed a lawsuit against the couple in August 2021, seeking unspecified damages for "intentional infliction of emotional distress." She alleged that she was experiencing "severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats" and that she was living in "fear of retaliation" from Minaj, Petty, and her accomplices. She added that she had been offered a bribe, a recantation statement, and money to end this whole thing, but she declined.
