At the 2023 Oscars, the actress from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" did the job.
In 2023, Angela Bassett delivered at the Oscars.
The Black Panther is meant by that. At the 95th Academy Awards, actress from Wakanda Forever stunned as she walked the red carpet. The 64-year-old artist wore a stunning purple gown for the award event, which was held on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, along with a bejeweled serpent necklace and a dazzling little pocketbook.
Naturally, it was expected that Bassett would dress to the nines for this year's Oscars given that she was one of the prominent nominees going into the ceremony.
For those who need a refresher, Bassett received her second nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the second Black Panther film. She had previously received a nod for her portrayal of Tina Turner in 1993's What's Love Got to Do with It.

And even though she was the first member of Marvel Studios to receive an acting nomination for the Oscars, she admitted to Deadline in March that she hadn't "actually concentrated on that."
She continued, "I appreciate being a first. "I've never been the first before, other from shattering that glass ceiling. It was a fantastic effort led by Ryan [Coogler] and included fantastic creators and filmmakers. Simply said, I'm happy and honored to be associated with a series, film, and fictional universe that is making a difference and has achieved incredible success."
The Banshees of Inisherin's Kerry Condon, The Whale's Hong Chau, Everything Everywhere All at Once's Jamie Lee Curtis, and Everything Everywhere All at Once's Stephanie Hsu were all in Bassett's category for this year's competition.
Whether she brought the gold home will be revealed soon.
