The newly minted King got riled up right away.Approximately 100 staff of Clarence House, the now-retired royal residence of King Charles III, were informed that they would probably be demoted or fired during a church service for the late Queen, as first reported on Monday by The Guardian. Many of those workers have been doing their jobs for many years, and they are currently working nonstop during the current time of sorrow and the King's accession to the throne.

Despite the fact that some roles were anticipated to be reduced in scope or eliminated entirely, the sheer volume of employees who will shortly be let go as well as the inconvenient timing of the notices have provoked justifiable indignation.
"The extent and speed at which this has been disclosed is callous and excessive," said Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union.

Everyone is furious, including the senior team and private secretaries, according to a source who talked with The Guardian. The concept of alerting anyone who might lose their job when the vast majority can be maintained for employment elsewhere within the Royal family is not exactly ideal, Serwotka added, because they do not yet know how much staffing will be necessary for the incoming Prince of Wales and his family.

There appeared to be no sign at all that such a change would occur until Sir Clive Alderton, the King's top assistant, handed along the depressing letter, which stated, in part:

Personal pursuits, previous endeavors, and domestic duties of the former Prince of Wales will no longer be carried out. Therefore, it is anticipated that no longer be required the posts mostly based at Clarence House, whose work supports these areas.

The action was described as "nothing short of callous" by a civil service trade union, who further noted that it is particularly troubling given that it was carried out during a time of sorrow.

Neither was social media completely silent. Even a parody account, @BBCLauraKT, had to weigh in, however recently, as a result of recent events, it has shifted from parody to social commentary.

As was to be expected, some of the responses were likewise cold toward the crown.

Nevertheless, other people supported the action.

This is a sizable majority in the household, and many of this employees will be the same individuals who tirelessly assisted the new king during his time of grieving, according to Mark Serwotka.

He demanded "an urgent halt to the redundancy process" in speaking on behalf of the Union.
