China’s “irresponsible” shutdown of US contact is criticized by Blinken.

By cutting off vital lines of contact with the United States, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken criticized China of taking "irresponsible acts" and claimed that Beijing's retaliatory actions against Taiwan demonstrated that Beijing had abandoned peaceful solutions in favor of using force.

Blinken made his remarks on Saturday as Chinese military planes and vessels continued to practice an attack on Taiwan, according to officials in Taipei. This was one of a number of actions Beijing took in the wake of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's earlier this week visit to the island democracy.Blinken stated at a news conference in Manila that China's reprisal of blocking bilateral processes in eight crucial areas, including as climate change, transnational crime, drug control, and defense, would punish the entire world, not just the United States.

These include a number of military-to-military channels, which are essential for preventing misunderstandings and averting crises, according to Blinken.

"Suspending climate cooperation punishes the globe, particularly the developing world, not the United States. Because of the disparities between our two nations, we shouldn't hold back collaboration on issues of international concern, he remarked.

One of the main areas of collaboration between the two superpowers, which are also the two biggest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions, has been the fight against climate change.Blinken stated that although the US has been receiving complaints from partners on what he called China's risky and unstable moves surrounding Taiwan in recent days, Washington will remain consistent in its approach to the problem.

The secretary of state added that he had told China's foreign minister that the US was committed to maintaining open lines of communication in order to avoid any miscalculations.

To be clear, he continued, "the United States does not believe that escalating the situation is in the interest of Taiwan, the region, or our own national security."

"With the aim of preventing an escalation brought on by misunderstanding or misunderstandings, we'll keep the lines of communication with China open."Wang Yi, the foreign minister of China, charged Blinken on Saturday with "speaking untruthfully" about China.

We want to caution the United States not to move hastily or to exacerbate the crisis, Wang added.
