The upcoming Frasier reboot has received an update from Kelsey Grammer.

The actor will reprise his Frasier Crane role in a Paramount+ revival of the well-liked sitcom from the 1990s.

Grammar said the crew was "in the last phases of the final screenplay for the first episode of the Frasier remake" when appearing on The Talk on Monday (4 July), adding that the program "looks very nice."Although there was no formal confirmation of a start date for shooting, Grammer said that there had been "some conversations" about starting filming in October.

He stated, "There are a few other things coming soon. We've developed a few other projects that appear to be heading into production first.

In February 2021, the Frasier relaunch was officially announced. The American sitcom, which was developed as a Cheers spin-off, ran for 11 seasons, from 1993 to 2004. It starred Grammer as psychiatrist Frasier Crane, who, after divorcing his wife, relocates to Seattle, Washington, to broadcast a radio show.

The idea is still moving forward, according to actor David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier's younger brother Niles Crane. However, he did not specify whether or not he will be participating.

Peri Gilpin, Jane Leeves, and Pierce, who were co-stars with Grammer, were said to be considering returning for the reboot.

More recent reports, however, have indicated that only Grammer will be involved in the series.
