Putin has the means to carry on the Ukraine War for a “long period,” according to the German chancellor.

In a recent interview, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz issued a warning that Russian President Vladimir Putin probably has the means to continue invading Ukraine militarily for a "long period."In an interview that was pre-recorded and aired on Sunday morning on CBS's Face the Nation, Scholz made the remarks about Russia's terrible conflict. The German chancellor informed Margaret Brennan that the Russian president started making preparations for an invasion of his western neighbor at least a year before the formal initiation of the war assault. She was chosen to succeed Angela Merkel after she retired. That period, according to Scholz, allowed Putin to gather supplies to ensure he could continue his campaign for however long was required. When Brennan inquired as to when Russia will run out of resources, including money and weapons, Scholz responded, "No one really knows."

"He has — he is perhaps the ruler of a very great nation with many citizens and wealth, and he is actually waging this horrible war with — and he prepared for it [for] very long," he added. "Due to his preparation, I believe the decision to engage in this conflict was made a year before it really began. He will therefore be able to carry out the struggle for a very long period."

The chancellor continued by pointing out that the western countries supporting Ukraine in its struggle for independence also have substantial financial resources.
This is the message we are sending to [Putin]: We are prepared to help Ukraine for as long as is required in order to maintain its peace, democracy, rule of law, and all other things that the people of Ukraine seek.

Scholz told the network that continuous Western backing for the European country "would help to give him the idea that this is not working and that he will not be successful," but she was unable to predict whether Putin's efforts to expand his influence at Ukraine.

The German leader provided a date for the remaining battle by telling the network that "the fight will finish when Putin recognizes that his plan to annex a portion of his neighbor's territory will fail."

Invading Ukraine since late February, Russia has forced millions of women and children to leave the violence as refugees. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians and an undetermined number of Russians have also died in the bloodbath. As destruction spread throughout the European nation, President Joe Biden and other prominent western leaders denounced Putin as a war criminal and pledged to give Ukraine the tools it needs to repel the invasion.

Although it is unclear how long Ukraine will be able to prevent Russian soldiers from capturing any major cities, the country has come together in its resolve to combat the ongoing attack.
In order to focus on capturing the Donbas, a region in the southeast of Ukraine that is governed by separatist groups with Russian support, Putin withdrew his soldiers from Kyiv around the end of May.
