Jeff Bezos of Amazon called it "misdirection" to "mush together" inflation and corporate tax increases.
Inflation has reached new highs in the United States since the 1980s.

On Friday, Amazon Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos chastised President Joe Biden for his tweet about lowering inflation by taxing major firms.

"Do you want to reduce inflation? Let us ensure that the richest firms pay their fair share "Biden urged in a Friday evening tweet.

The president was reposted by the Amazon millionaire, who said the remark could be deemed disinformation.

"The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet," Bezos added, seemingly referring to Homeland Security's recently announced Disinformation Governance Board."It's fine to talk about raising corporate taxes. It is vital to consider how to control inflation. It's merely a ruse to mash them together "Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos went on.Inflation in the United States has hit new highs not seen since the 1980s, hurting the cost of necessities such as gasoline, food, healthcare, and housing. For the first time in eight months, the rate of inflation fell in April.

Excess demand for products and services, rising wages and material costs, currency depreciation, and rules and regulations, as previously reported by Insider, are some of the most common reasons of inflation.

Bezos' company, Amazon, has been accused of not paying its fair share of taxes for a long time. In 2017 and 2018, the business did not pay any federal income taxes.

ProPublica reported last year that Bezos, one of the world's wealthiest people, paid no federal income taxes between 2007 and 2011

Insider's request for comment to the White House was not immediately returned.
