Jane Fonda is more motivated than ever to make the most of her life.

In a recent interview with Glamour, the 84-year-old performer — who is featured on the cover of the magazine's May issue — discusses the process of reflection she went through as she neared her "last act" in life.

"I recognized I was reaching my third act — my final act — and that it wasn't a dress rehearsal" when she was approaching 60, she told "Black-ish" star Yara Shahidi, who conducted the interview. "One thing I was certain of was that I didn't want to reach the end with a lot of regrets, therefore how I lived up until the end would determine whether or not I had regrets."Fonda claimed that in order to know where she was going, she needed to think about where she had been previously. So the activist decided to conduct her own "life review" and "research" in order to obtain the answers she needed — a procedure that proved to be life-changing.

"It really transformed my perspective on myself and how I wanted to spend the latter third of my life," she added. "And I learned how important it is to be deliberate in how we live our lives."The "Grace and Frankie" star came to a shocking revelation about herself as a result of her self-reflection: she was brave."I didn't have much faith in myself," Fonda admitted, "and it never occurred to me to give myself any kind of positive title." "I was attracted to people who were smarter, tougher, and ethically stronger than I was. I'd always wanted to be more like them, but I couldn't envision myself becoming like them."In your earlier years, your body is "extremely forgiving," but as you become older, you "realize that remaining well is pleasant and vital since age isn't so much chronology," according to Fonda.

The actor revealed that she takes care of herself by getting eight to nine hours of sleep each night and enjoys meditation, nature, and workouts."At 84, which is my age, you might be very old or very young." "My father died seven years younger than I am now, but he appeared to be much older because he was unwell," Fonda explained.

"If you keep curious, you will also stay young for a long time," the actor says she feels younger now than she did when she was 20.
