A young Ukrainian girl is safe in Poland after performing an emotional rendition of the "Frozen" song "Let It Go" for her fellow residents at a Kyiv bomb shelter. In a moving tribute to her host country, the girl sang an a cappella version of Ukraine's national anthem.
According to the BBC, Amellia Anisovych, who is seven years old, sung the national song for tens of thousands of people at a charity event for her country called "Together With Ukraine." According to the Polish TV station TVN, artists from Poland and Ukraine performed at the event, which was arranged to collect funds for the relief organization Polish Humanitarian Action.Amellia took the stage in front of a rapt audience during the concert, which took place at an arena in the Polish city of ód. She seemed overwhelmed as she walked to her spot, but as she started singing, she seemed to regain her confidence and pride.Amellia's talents first went viral earlier this month, when she was approached by a woman staying in a Kyiv bomb shelter and asked to sing for those seeking shelter. Her blonde hair braided behind her like the "Frozen" queen Elsa, the kid launched into an amazing and impassioned performance of "Let It Go."
After introducing Amellia's "Frozen" music clip this month, CNN's Anderson Cooper, reporting from Ukraine, was virtually speechless.
"I don't know what else to say but thank you, Amellia," he remarked. "I appreciate your kindness."
Amellia's departure from Ukraine and arrival in Poland was not immediately known. According to the BBC, she is in the host country with her grandma.
